Doris From Norris: For Sax Quartet

Plus optional rhythm section backing track

This funky arrangement of Mike Smith’s Doris from Norris for saxophone quartet may also be played with optional pre-recorded rhythm section.
 
Written with a funky back beat, this piece will be a good workout for each player and inspire some dancing in the aisles in any setting.
 
There are opportunities for both alto and tenor solos which could be extended if required.
 
The various specially-created music minus one style backing tracks allow each player to practice individually with track, right up to a quartet rehearsing with the rhythm section backing.
 
Written for the original Doris from Norris; Mike’s late grandmother who lived in Norris Green, an area in Liverpool.

Jazz Flight : for sax quartet

A windblown trinity

Description

Jazz Flight is a wind-blown trilogy, a jazz hornithology! 

The three works are:
1. A Louisiana Landing - inspired by the second-line style of New Orleans
2. Cotton Club Lounge - inspired by the swing-era of Duke Ellington 
3. Mile High Funk - inspired by the James Brown horns

The quartets are scores for either SATB or AATB quartet, with optional rhythm section. They can be performed with a live rhythm section, or with the provided MP3 backing. 

The PDF bundle comes complete with MP3 minus-one tracks as follows:
